Sound engineer, Sohta Tsuchiya, has recorded several international stars such as marimbist Eriko Daimo, (First Prize winner in the International Marimba Competition 2004 in Belgium) and iconic jazz drummer Ralph Peterson, Jr., (known for performances with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messenger Big Band, the Count Basie Orchestra and Betty Carter). Sohta worked on the engineering team for the award winning film Brother Soldiers, recording a full orchestra and soprano vocalist. A pianist and guitarist himself, he graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production and Engineering. At Berklee he learned his craft studying with Marty Walsh (composer/producer for 20th Century Fox, NBC, and CBS) and Richard Mendelson (whose work has been featured in recordings by Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger, Fergie, and Garbage). Sohta was awarded the Berklee Achievement Scholarship while a student, for his success in Sound Engineering.
